AquaFit Seniors
AquaFit Seniors is an international Erasmus+ Sport project focused on promoting active and healthy ageing through swimming, aqua fitness, and rehabilitation activities for older adults. The project addresses key challenges such as physical inactivity, reduced mobility, and social isolation among seniors by offering safe, low-impact, and inclusive opportunities for physical activity.
The main objective is to increase seniors’ participation in regular aquatic activities, improve their physical health and overall wellbeing, and strengthen social connections. At the same time, the project builds the capacity of coaches and sports organisations by providing specialised training on how to work effectively with older participants.
Through cross-border cooperation between Slovakia and Czechia, the project will engage hundreds of participants, including seniors and sports professionals, and develop a practical methodology for senior-friendly aquatic programmes. The results, including training materials and guidelines, will be openly available and designed for long-term use and replication across Europe.
BE PREPARED!
Crisis situations do not announce their arrival in advance. Whether it is natural disasters, unexpected accidents, or intense emotional distress, the key to managing them successfully is preparedness. The training course “Be Prepared!” is designed to equip youth workers with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively handle emergencies and strengthen the overall resilience of young people in their communities.
The programme focuses on a comprehensive approach to safety, from technical first aid skills to psychological support in critical situations.
